Are you interested in running a Volunteer Run Camp? Are you taking over as Director at an existing camp? Are you planning or interested in starting a new camp? This is the workshop for you! Join Council staff for the first part of Volunteer Run Camp Director training. You will be required to complete a one on one training as well to get official credit for Volunteer Run Camp Director training following this course that covers the basics.

Dutch Oven CookingExpand your outdoor experience by learning about Dutch oven cooking. We will learn about the care and feeding of Dutch ovens as well as learn some new recipes for breakfast, dinner and dessert. You will be preparing your lunch during the class, so please do not order a Discoveree lunch. This workshop will extend into the lunch hour.

An introduction to gear possibilities for troop backpacking, including some of the newer options, and especially how to assemble gear without breaking the bank. Gear will be available to look at and handle.

264 Camp Tea Time
Come and make recipes for a rustic but elegant tea party for your next camping trip. Using mostly store bought items we will make tea sandwiches, skillet scones, Victoria sponge cake, English Trifle, and more. Recipe ideas will be provided for gluten free and vegan options and all items will be nut free. Please bring a travel mug (or camping mug) and an unbreakable plate.

281 Using Infusible Ink (by Cricut)
Learn how to make personalized items using infusible inks (Cricut brand’s version of dye sublimation). We will go over some of the materials that it can be applied to, how the process works, how to set up a troop project and practice using the Infusible Ink pens, laser printer paper to make a small personalized sample item, in addition to showing you some sample applications and comparing it to Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV/iron on). [note: (1) if you want to bring your own item, fabric content must be higher than 50% polyester or be coated with a special polymer “dye sublimation substrate” for Infusible inks to adhere to it,; one sample item will be provided to practice on. (2) we will NOT be using a Cricut cutting machine during this workshop, however during the workshop we will use a Cricut Easy Press to apply heat that is in the 385*F to 400*F range]

Learn the art of wood burning. You'll learn about the materials needed and how to do it safely with your troop. Whether done at camporee or a troop meeting, this is a great craft for Girl Scouts! You'll get to decorate an item of your choosing to take with you.

Come learn how to use bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes to make cute and whimsical forest friends, sea creatures, and plus more fascinating animals. These cruise style-cuties, with a welcome card, and piece of chocolate can help welcome friends when they come over. You will practice many styles and go home with a set of towels including a personal creation, a boo-boo buddy, and instructions to make many more.
