Session 1 Workshops:
101 - All I Ever Wanted to Know About Travel I Learned on a Girl Scout TripWorkshop Leader: Sandy Norman
Exciting news!!! The girls in your troop have decided they want to travel and see the world. If they are ready for the adventures of planning an extended trip this workshop will help get everyone started. We will cover some of the basics for planning your trip: helping the girls decide where they want to go, how long the trip will be, choosing adult chaperones, what activities they want to participate in while on the trip, and fun ways to fund their adventure. Please prepare a list of the top three questions you and/or your girls have about troop travel. Keep in mind that this is not the Extended Troop Travel training that is required for trips of 3 nights or more. You will receive a list of the required trainings and paperwork for Extended Troop Travel. 
102- Virtual Cooking for All AgesWorkshop Leader: Nicole Nelson
Cooking and baking activities are a great way for girls to have a hands-on experience, even while troops meet virtually. This workshop will give tips for how to prepare and facilitate a successful troop baking project as well as kid-friendly recipes for pizza, focaccia, donuts, spaghetti sauce, cornbread, and butter. 
103 - College Knowledge Badge Workshop Leader: Audrey Slaughter
Curious about college and how to help your senior or ambassador troop plan for it - especially virtually? Come learn how to earn this GS badge, good for 9th-11th grade! Resources and step by step instructions will make this a badge your troop can earn together virtually and share in team learning. Age Level: Senior Ambassador Supplies: The GSUSA badge requirements are available here for $2.50.

104 - Permanent Marker Tie DyeWorkshop Leader: Tina Marshall
Create a work of art using alcohol ink/permanent markers on a ceramic piece. Can be very simple or more involved if inspired! 
105 - SWAPs!Workshop Leader: Jennifer Foreman
Learn about SWAPS! Including what they are, when to make them, and SWAPping etiquette. You'll also make several SWAPS and learn about where to find SWAP ideas on the web.

106 - Environmental and Outdoor STEMWorkshop Leader: Arri DeJesus Do you and your troop take a lichen to environmental and outdoor STEM programs but not know where to start? Facilitating these programs virtually can be tricky! Join us for a tree-mendous workshop where we will explore environmental and outdoor STEM activities virtually! 107 - Astronomy BasicsWorkshop Leader: Val Armento
Want to help your girls enjoy the night sky? Come learn about the constellations, how to find them and the stories behind them. Engage in fun, hands-on, star-related activities that can be used to complete badge requirements.

Session 2 Workshops:
201 - ZOOM GamesWorkshop Leader: Corrine Sutliff
Learn to play a variety of interactive games on Zoom to keep girls (and adults!) engaged in meetings. We will play lots of easy to do and easy to prepare games including “Scavenger Hunt”, “Five Second Rule” and “Find It”. We will also talk about resources for finding new games to play with online groups. 
202 - Troop YogaHave fun learning movement and mindfulness games for girls of all ages and troop levels.
Yoga is an ancient science that promotes health and well-being, can help with concentration and teaches respect for others, nature and ourselves. It can help give you tools you can use in daily life to relax and be more focused on the present moment. 203 - Promote Like a Pro - Marketing Girl Scout Events & ActivitiesWorkshop Leader: Gina Garitson Learn how to develop a marketing strategy for your troop/service unit event, activity or program. We'll discuss how to leverage social media, and other channels of communication, to build excitement around your event. Learn how to create and use a suite of promotional materials that catches the attention of your targeted audience. |
204 - Destinations (Where in the World?)
Workshop Leader: Val Armento Do your girls want a chance to go somewhere new, do something different and meet people from around the world? If so, Destinations is the way to go! Girl Scout Destinations are the ultimate adventures for girls ages 11 and older. Some trips repeat, some are new each year -- adventures for everyone. Learn about the travel opportunities and how to prepare girls for the application process and travel once the pandemic is behind us. Discover where in the world Girl Scouts can take you. Age Level: Cadette, Senior, Ambassador 
205 - Acrylic Painting
Workshop Leader: Sheryl Haller
Take a break and release your inner artist by painting a waterfall scene. No experience required and step by step instruction provided. You must provide your own acrylic paint, brushes and canvas. Tips on how to teach your own virtual painting classes for Girl Scouts of all levels and use this activity for art badge requirements will also be shared. 
206 - Science MagicWorkshop Leader: Kindra Mendall
Join me as we learn how to do several fun and easy science experiments you can share with your girls - they look like magic but are actually science. All can be taught virtually or in-person and all use materials that should be found around a house. I will also share tips about how to best present science via Zoom and in-person so you can use what you learn whenever you're ready! Age Levels: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette

207 - Buddy BurnersWorkshop Leader: Eileen Doster Learn how to make Buddy Burners (Really good to know, in case you are ever wandering about and need to cook some food!). Learn how to create the Buddy Burners from old candles & tuna cans; make stoves out of coffee cans. Try fun recipes for one person and be able to teach girls how to cook this way! Age Level: Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador

301 - Virtual Tips & Tricks, Brownies & DaisiesWorkshop Leader: Eliz Adem Come learn best practices, approaches, games, and activities for Daisies and Brownies on a virtual platform. This is geared towards new learners to the virtual space. 302 - Anti-Racism/Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)Workshop Leader: Olivia Ortiz
We can all stand to learn more about how to be respectful and responsive to people with different backgrounds and perspectives. Join us for an interactive training to learn about diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). In this workshop you will gain introductory skills on how you can lead, discover, connect, and take action in antiracism and anti-oppression work. This workshop is lead by Council and is responsive to their commitment to DEIB. 
303 - Training Program Aides - Learn to Host a Variety of Program Aide Trainings
Workshop Leader: Erica Sutliff
Join us for an exciting workshop where we share a variety of tips and techniques we use to train Program Aides (PAs)! We will share all the materials that we use for our PA trainings along with our best practices & ideas for how to create a fun & successful older girl training. Age Level: Cadette

304 - Scoubidou/Craft Lace/Lanyard Making
Workshop Leader: Gina Garitson Learn how to make a minimum of 6 scoubi designs that you can teach your Girl Scouts. Scoubidou is a very inexpensive craft that keeps hands busy at camp, sleepovers and even at home! 
305 - Easy Engineering Projects
Workshop Leader: Kindra Mendall
You'll get hands-on experience doing several easy engineering projects that use materials that are basic, cheap, and generally found around your house. Projects will be translatable to virtual or in-person presentation scenarios. You'll also learn tips on setting girls up for success, fostering teamwork, and learning from their mistakes. Age Levels: Brownie, Junior, Cadette 
306 - Knots for the OutdoorsWorkshop Leader: Karen Oliver
Learn knots for use at camp for tents, clotheslines and dunk bags. You'll learn ways to teach knots to girls and get some good resources. If time allows we'll make a Knot Swap.

307 - Introduction to Basic Camping
Workshop Leader: Theresa Northcutt
Learn what it takes to take your troop camping. This is for beginners, but all are welcome. We will discuss training, equipment, locations and how to develop the needed skills. This does not replace the Camp Out training. Led by GSNorcal Outdoor Learning Facilitator.

Session 4 Workshops
401 - Create a Virtual Escape Room
Workshop Leader: Diane Bartlett
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about a couple of different types of Virtual Escape Rooms before creating one as a group using Google Forms. This activity is a great way to practice cooperation and logical thinking. 
402 - Gold Award for Leaders
Workshop Leader: Nancy Corbin
A workshop for leaders to help prepare their troops to Go for the Gold. The Alameda Gold Award Committee will help guide you through the steps from brainstorming and discussing ideas with the girls, to preparing the paperwork and the application process, then how to work through the actual project to the final report. Plus time for discussions about any other questions that you may have! Prior to the Discoveree workshop, we recommend that you take the on-line Gold Award training and read the information on the GS Northern California website. Age Level: Senior, Ambassador 
403 - Painting with DaisyWorkshop Leader: Daisy Kiehn
Artist Daisy will lead you through the steps to paint a whimsical llama. Using professional painterly techniques as well as hacks for amateurs, you will complete a charming and unique creation. Age Level: Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador

404 - Tropical Island Yoga on a Chair

Find out which chair yoga poses are like surfing, swimming and sunbathing to help soothe our nervous systems and stretch & strengthen our bodies. 
405 - Think Like an Engineer!Workshop Leader: Brenda Gabel
Get ready to Think Like an Engineer! In this workshop we will do the corgi vest activity from the Cadette Journey. You don't have to be a Cadette leader to benefit from this workshop; we'll cover ideas for leading all levels of this Journey! We'll touch on the engineering design process, talk about ways to incorporate University students and other engineering professionals into your virtual meetings, and discuss some Take Action ideas. 
406 - Backpacking with Your Troop
Workshop Leader: Kathy Gallagher
Nuts and Bolts of how to get started backpacking with your troop. Start young and offer your girls a unique opportunity to build confidence and learn to value our priceless wilderness (and less wild) heritage!

407 - Outdoor Skills
Workshop Leader: Karen Oliver Learn about outdoor skills for your Girl Scouts: Trail Signs, pocket knives, knots, track casting, compass, 10 essentials, and safety. We'll be as hands on as we can and make sure you have plenty of resources.
