101 American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED
Blended Learning Course.
This blended learning course includes an online portion and a skills session. Once registered to attend you will be sent a link to complete the online portion (3-4 hours). The online MUST be completed prior to attending the skills sessions and you must show the instructor that you passed the online course. Upon completion of this skills session and the online GSNorCal First Aider course, you will be eligible to act as a Troop First Aider. Please dress in comfortable clothes as we will be practicing on the floor.

102 Extended Troop Travel Training
Extended Troop Travel is required of at least one adult for a trip of 3 nights or longer, a national or international trip. This volunteer will need to attend the trip and be involved in the planning process with the group. You will gain from the experience of seasoned Girl Scout travelers, and receive valuable tips on planning “big” trips with your group.

106 Managing Mental Health Needs: Older Girls
Managing mental health needs in a troop can be a challenge. Leaders and volunteers of Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador level troops are invited to attend this workshop where you can build your confidence identifying mental health behaviors.Learn what risk issues to look out for and how to appropriately manage them with your Girl Scouts and their parents. We will also discuss how to address the troop when they observe challenging disruptions from scouts triggered by trauma, stimming, tics, or extreme displays of strong negative emotions. We will talk about how to support gender expansive scouts. You will leave with a better understanding of how to support ALL of your scouts and parent volunteers.

142 Create Your Own Escape Room--Artfully, Of Course
Learn how to create a basic escape room experience. We will have a brief presentation to introduce participants to the benefits of escape rooms, as well as how to design the experience, and how to develop the puzzles. Participants will then have an opportunity to solve the puzzles in an art themed escape. Why art? Why, it was Juliette Gordon Low's favorite subject in school! Use the skills learned to create a troop activity or have your troop create an escape for a fundraiser.

143 Strawberry DNA Extraction
This is a fun and easy experiment to teach about genomics and DNA. We will be extracting DNA from strawberries just like a molecular biologist would do, but with fruit. It's a great way to build interest and confidence in science.

161 Camp Out Training (3 sessions)
This course is required for at least one adult who will accompany the troop when cooking or sleeping outdoors. Emphasis is on how to teach skills to the girls and prepare them for their outdoor experiences, as well as health and safety concerns. You will be preparing your lunch during the class, so please do not order a Discoveree lunch. This is a three session workshop. (You must attend all three sessions to get certified.)

In this workshop, you will help prepare a wide variety of snacks, desserts, and meal selections and cook them using a box oven. Teaching Ethical Practices for the sister of sisters, Mother Earth Mother Earth. Impacts on our natural environment often cannot be undone, and "penalizing" activity after the facts does not remove the scar. Leave No Trace, from the Center of Outdoor Ethics, teaches us how to pro actively plan and care for Mother Earth, In this session you will not only learn the 7 Principles of LNT, but you will engage in games and hands on activities to teach this to your units. Knowledge is power and we will empower our sisters to be stewards of our planet.

Life is filled with challenges, big and small. And while there is no magic wand to make them all go away, what we can do is learn how to deal with those challenges so that they don't stop us from living our biggest life. In this workshop, you'll learn what it means to live BIG and practice the foundational skills of connecting to your mind, body, and character so that you can take care of yourself and live your biggest life!

Who is better qualified to be you than you. You are you for the very reason you are you, No one can be you like you. - How images projected on social media are not real We want to enlighten girls that the images and influencers they follow on social media presents a false persona and not following the crowd allows the real you to shine. We will share the power of being an individual and the authentic you creates a healthy mental and physical environment. We will discuss social media vs the real world: examples-keeping up with the Joneses (will share meaning) when you don't really know what the Joneses have to do to maintain their lifestyle and trying to get in where you do not fit in. FranCine is the 3rd youngest of 14 children and learnt to find her voice and embrace her uniqueness in a way that the world could not alter.

Do you want to start your day out with a nice stretch and to wake up the brain and the senses, then come join us for yoga in the morning! We will stretch, move, push and pull (at your own values) to wake up the body. Move through the day knowing that you have given your body the attention that it needs.

Admire a beautiful mandala pattern every time you take a sip! Attendees of this workshop will learn how to paint a beautiful mandala pattern on a mug that they can take home and bake in an oven to ensure a long-lasting finish. The design will be simple enough that it can easily be taught to Cadette-level troops and older! Mugs, paint and painting tools will be provided.

188 Visioning the Future in GSNorCal
In this year's strategic planning process, we are creating a Council vision and strategy for the next 3 years and beyond. As volunteers, you are critical in our Council and in this process. In this session, we will share the Council's strategic goals for this year, including how to support new leaders, grow membership, improve reward cards, improve training, and support Hispanic Spanish-speaking families. Bri will share her vision and how it aligns with GSUSA strategy and an overview of the steps in the strategic planning process. Then, we want your feedback! We want you to think big and share your ideas for how GSNorCal can best serve Girl Scouts in our Council, grow membership, improve volunteer support, and serve as a model Council in the Movement.
